Every visit to Paycom Center delivers more than just a show or game. It offers a complete entertainment experience designed to create lasting memories. 

Arrival and Entry Experience

Your experience begins before you even step inside. Legends Global staff and venue security manage entry points efficiently, ensuring smooth access while maintaining guest safety. Arriving 30 to 45 minutes before the event start time allows plenty of time for parking, security screening, and finding your seats.

All guests pass through walk-through metal detectors, and bag inspections are required. Paycom Center enforces a strict small-bag policy for most major events, including all Oklahoma City Thunder games. Bags must be no larger than 6” x 9” x 2”.

Atmosphere and Ambiance

Paycom Center is celebrated for its modern design, which prioritizes the fan experience through advanced technology and structural planning. Here are the key design and technology features that contribute to the arena’s dynamic atmosphere:

• Intimate atmosphere: The design creates an intimate and energetic atmosphere despite seating more than 18,000 guests for basketball games. Steeply raked seating brings upper-level fans closer to the action, enhancing visibility and sound energy.

• Dynamic lighting systems: Dynamic LED lighting systems and programmable fixtures tailor the environment to each event, providing custom light shows for concerts and team-color prompts for Thunder games.

• Video displays: High-definition center-hung video boards and LED ribbon displays provide real-time stats, replays, and visual entertainment, adapting to suit concerts, sporting events, and special shows.

• Flexible configuration: The arena’s adaptable layout enables seamless transitions between event types, maintaining consistently high presentation standards for basketball, concerts, and theatrical productions.

Sound System and Acoustics

Paycom Center’s modern sound system delivers exceptional clarity and balanced audio across all seating levels. The acoustics were engineered to reduce echo and maintain consistent sound quality, regardless of where you’re seated.

For concerts, touring production teams integrate their own high-end sound equipment with the arena’s in-house systems to create optimal acoustics for each performance. This collaboration produces concert-quality sound that rivals dedicated music venues.

During Thunder games, the sound mix balances clear public address announcements, crowd prompts, and music that energizes the arena without overwhelming conversation. 

Crowd Experience

Few arenas in the NBA match the intensity of Paycom Center’s game-day atmosphere. The arena is famously known as “Loud City,” a nickname earned by Thunder fans for creating one of the league’s most energetic and intimidating environments. 

Concert audiences vary depending on the artist and production. Some shows offer fully seated arrangements, while others feature standing-room floor sections that encourage dancing and crowd engagement. The venue accommodates both comfortably, with excellent sightlines from every level.

Trained security and guest services personnel ensure events remain safe and enjoyable for all in attendance. 

Sightlines and Visibility

The arena’s architectural design guarantees unobstructed views from all seating areas. There are no interior support columns blocking sightlines, and even the upper levels provide surprisingly clear views of the action below.

Steep seating angles enhance visibility, bringing distant seats closer to the floor. While lower-bowl seats naturally offer the most detail, the upper levels still deliver a strong visual experience, thanks to smart elevation and video support.

Decor and Visual Design

Paycom Center has a modern interior design that celebrates Oklahoma’s local feel. During the Thunder season, team colors and logos fill the building, making it an unmistakable home court. For concerts and special events, the look is kept sleek and simple to suit any show.

The public hallways (concourses) are bright and modern, with clear screens and good lighting to help you find your seats, food stands, and restrooms quickly, even when the arena is full. The design balances ease of use with good looks.
